The effect of MOOSfree^® is based on the fact that copper ions inhibit the growth of mosses, lichens, and algae and cause them to disappear during time. For MOOSfree^® werden feine Kupferfäden zu einem mehrlagigen Textil mit großer spezifischer Oberfläche verstrickt.

This special copper tape, with a surface area equivalent to that of a 0.3-meter-wide strip of copper, is attached to the roof tiles or roof slates using two butyl adhesive strips affixed to its underside. Installation location for MOOSfree^® 30 is preferred:

• Below skylights, dormers, or vents, if the distance to the gutter is no more than 2 meters
• On the ridge, to keep the ridge area free of moss

Over time, water and oxygen in the environment cause the copper surface to oxidize on all sides, resulting in the continuous release of copper ions.

Please note the following when assessing your needs:

• Due to the undulation of roof tiles, length additions of between 10% and 15% of the stretched length may be necessary
• Each roll of MOOSfree^® completion tapes are included—two per 5 meters. Additional quantities can be ordered separately.
